Tuesdays, 5:30 PM - 7:30 PM
This six-week watercolor series is designed for beginners and those looking to strengthen their fundamentals. Students will learn how watercolor works, including materials, paper types, and common challenges of the medium. Each week builds skills through guided exercises exploring techniques such as wet-on-wet, layering, masking, texture, color mixing, and value.
As the series progresses, students will develop a deeper understanding of color theory, light, and atmospheric perspective. In the final weeks, students will begin a longer-term painting based on a photo reference, learning how to choose achievable subject matter and translate it successfully into watercolor. Individual guidance is provided throughout, with time to refine and develop a finished piece.
All materials and instruction included. Beginner-friendly. Ages 16+.

Tuesdays, 5:30 PM - 7:30 PM
This six-week series is the next step after Intro to Watercolor and is designed for students who are ready to move beyond foundational skills and focus deeply on technique. This class emphasizes strengthening control, precision, and understanding of the medium through structured technical studies.
Each week targets specific skill development: washes, edge control (hard vs. soft transitions), glazing, controlled wet-on-wet applications, negative painting, texture techniques, lifting and correction methods, complex color mixing with attention to temperature, and creating depth through value. Students will practice layering without muddiness, preserving highlights intentionally, and managing timing and moisture with greater confidence.
Weeks 1-4 will build on the previous week's techniques and the last 2 weeks will be dedicated to a personal project using a photographic reference chosen by the student.
Individual feedback is provided throughout to help students refine technique and gain greater independence with the medium.
All materials and instruction included. Prerequisite: Intro to Watercolor or equivalent experience.
