Gem Hansen, BFA

I loved how comfortable Gem, our instructor, was with the skill she was helping us learn. She has samples of finished projects, written tutorials and lots of material to work with - nothing to bring but yourself. She is very patient and helps each individual at their own level. She is calm and encouraging. A very nice experience!

Gem is a textile artist and educator with over four years of teaching experience in sewing, embroidery, crochet, and mixed media. She earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts from Flagler College, where she concentrated on fiber arts, painting, sculpture, and experimental processes. Her passion and love for art was sparked very early in life, inspired by her grandma's love for handmade crafts and sewing.

Gem has previously led one-on-one freelance classes focused on DIY creativity, community connection, and helping students discover their individual artistic voices. She believes that all art deserves to be seen and that creative spaces are essential for self-expression and community.
