Watercolor Foundations
This six-week watercolor series is designed for beginners and those looking to strengthen their fundamentals. Students will learn how watercolor works, including materials, paper types, and common challenges of the medium. Each week builds skills through guided exercises exploring techniques such as wet-on-wet, layering, masking, texture, color mixing, and value.
As the series progresses, students will develop a deeper understanding of color theory, light, and atmospheric perspective. In the final weeks, students will begin a longer-term painting based on a photo reference, learning how to choose achievable subject matter and translate it successfully into watercolor. Individual guidance is provided throughout, with time to refine and develop a finished piece.
